Experience

Faris joined Capsticks in 2019 as a paralegal in the Regulatory Division. He commenced his training contract in 2021, completing seats in the Regulatory and the Corporate and Commercial Divisions. Faris qualified as a solicitor in May 2023.

Faris primarily undertakes professional disciplinary investigations for Social Work England. He has also assisted with investigations for a number of other regulators including the Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Dental Council and General Optical Council. Faris has experience of investigating cases involving allegations of all types of misconduct, lack of competency or capability, and cases involving criminal convictions or cautions and health matters.  

Expertise

Faris has experience of working on:

  • Pre Case Examiner and Post Case Examiner investigations;
  • Interim Order Applications and Interim Order Reviews;
  • Substantive Order Reviews;
  • High Court Extensions of Interim Orders; and
  • Voluntary removal applications.

Faris is experienced at obtaining and advising on the best evidence, and supporting witnesses, registrants and third parties, including those with vulnerabilities, through the fitness to practise process.

CSR activity

Faris sits on the firm’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council and regularly attends meetings across the firm’s Employee Network Groups.

Faris mentors university students studying law in partnership with the Leeds Law School mentorship programme. This involves supporting those wishing to enter the profession and providing guidance on job applications, training contract application and interview preparation.
