The Capsticks Housing Diploma is the first housing development and regeneration qualification of its kind for the housing sector, endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Delivered by our specialist legal team (with support from external experts), the diploma will provide a practical understanding of the process of housing development, with a focus on its legal aspects, to a recognised professional standard.

The course will involve one day attendance each month for a period of nine months starting from January to September 2023, followed by an essay assessment in September 2023.

The scheduled timings for each day will be: 9.30am registration, 10.00am start and 4.00pm close. Please note, these timings are subject to change but will be confirmed before the course begins.

Applications are now open. All applicants will be notified in the autumn whether their application was successful.

  • Day 3 - Scheme appraisals
  • Day 4 - HOTs, joint venture structures and contractual arrangements
  • Day 5 - Title, Leases and Transfers
  • Day 6 - Planning considerations
  • Day 7 - Negotiating and delivering development agreements
  • Day 8 - Key title issues and section agreements
  • Day 9 - Estate management and managing disputes


Essay assessment. Participants will have two months to complete the essay.

Course fees:

The total cost of undertaking the Diploma course is £3,000, plus VAT. This can be paid in either one or two instalments by your employer; self-funded students receive a 10% discount off their fees.
