Amy Stirton

Legal Director

Experience

Amy has acted for Registered Provider clients for over ten years and is experienced in all matters relating to housing management.

Expertise

Amy understands the needs of social housing clients and adopts a pragmatic approach, working closely with clients, witnesses and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.  Amy deals with complex and high risk antisocial behaviour matters, including those which involve gang activity, weapons and drugs.  Amy has worked closely with a number of large Registered Providers to provide solutions to very complex cases involving serious organised crime, County Lines gangs and the Cuckooing of property.

Notable projects

During the course of the Covid19 Pandemic, Amy undertook pioneering work on behalf of Registered Providers.  During the course of the ‘Eviction Ban’, Amy secured the first Covid Injunction in the Country to compel antisocial tenants to comply with National Restrictions.  Amy went on to secure one of the first evictions in the Country during the same period following a serious, prolonged case involving antisocial behaviour, drugs and the use of weapons on an Estate in the North East of England, successfully applying exemptions that had been introduced to enable evictions to take place in exceptional circumstances.
