Update on IR35 changes08/03/17
HMRC has now published its much-anticipated electronic tool for determining whether off-payroll engagements are “in scope” for the new IR35 rules that will apply from 6th April 2017. You can access the HMRC tool here. HMRC has confirmed that it will stand by the results generated by the tool unless a compliance check finds that the information provided isn’t accurate. Employers can print out the outcome of the employment status check and retain it as a record of their decision on whether IR35 applies or not.
We are currently working with many public sector employers to review their existing off-payroll arrangements; produce template contracts for temporary workers and to comply with their notification obligations in respect of off-payroll workers engaged through agencies.
