Tracy Giles - What I'm talking to clients about

Tracy is a Partner leading the Corporate and Commercial Team in Capsticks’ Birmingham office. Tracy advises our health, social care and emergency services clients and has been advising on procurement matters for over 15 years, providing complex procurement advice ranging from assisting with Competitive Dialogue processes, the establishment of frameworks and general advisory work. More recently, Tracy has been advising clients on development proposals, procurement considerations for capital projects and the implications of the recent Faraday case.

Tracy also specialises in health and social care integration and has advised on a number of integrated/joint working/Alliance arrangements between the NHS and local authorities.

What I'm talking to clients about:

I’m talking to clients about how their procurements and wider innovative projects will assist them in delivering the ambitions in the NHS Long Term plan. Budgets in health and social care are precious and need to be spent in the most effective way possible. It’s part of my role to help clients ensure they deliver that through well-structured projects, procurements and contracting arrangements. I’m here to help the internal teams maximise the opportunities that are available to them, in a safe and compliant way.

Some examples of the recent work that I am assisting clients with include:

  • delivery of significant development in hospital sites, whether through investment in existing sites, or new buildings and facilities;
  • procurement of medical equipment/technology, to ensure that future generations of patients can continue to benefit from an NHS that remains fit for the future and delivers world class care for major health problems; and
  • delivering integrated care solutions which help meet the needs of local communities and ensure they are locally owned.

Making connections that make a difference:

The wider team at Capsticks also prides itself on working collaboratively, and making connections between our sectors and clients to help foster innovation. That may be in relation to collaboration, innovative capital projects, med tech solutions, ensuring what is proposed is legally or clinically safe, making the links between health, care and housing or structuring the arrangements to ensure staffing requirements are appropriately considered. We’re always looking for ways in which we can embrace innovation, find the next possibility and foster solutions that support wider social goals and impacts, which is also a key aspiration of the NHS long term plan.

We’re supportive and want to help. Please do get in touch if we can help you deliver on any aspects of the implementation of the Long Term Plan and any role you may have to play in that.
