Capsticks’ housing and regeneration team significantly expanded in 2021. Following the appointment of Jen Hankinson and promotion of Suzanne Smith earlier this year, the Chorley and Winchester offices have welcomed a further five team members since November:

The new team will support registered providers on all legal aspects of housing and regeneration, including site acquisitions and disposals, development projects, golden brick and turnkey agreements, as well as home ownership and staircasing, commercial lease arrangements, stock rationalisation and plot sales.

The practice’s growth follows on from a host of tender wins, including Sovereign, Platform Housing, Your Housing Group, Regenda Homes, Riverside, Broadacres Housing Association, North Star (Castles and Coasts), Torus and Onward Homes.

Chimi Shakohoxha, Partner and Head of Housing and Regeneration, said: “During the last four years, our team in Chorley has gone from strength to strength in terms of becoming the go-to advisors for registered providers. The combined expertise of our management and regeneration specialists allows us to offer an all-encompassing service to our clients and support them on all challenges faced by the housing sector.

Capsticks aims to be the firm of choice for organisations who work to make a difference. Our purpose is to be the legal advisers that clients want by their side, providing innovative and practical solutions tailored to our sectors’ unique challenges. Our lawyers work together as one team with similar values: putting people first, doing the right thing and always forward thinking.
