At Capsticks, we aim to be the firm of choice for organisations who work to make a difference, to help clients deliver services to their communities. Our dedicated Public Law and Judicial Review team, who work alongside our subject matter experts, have unrivalled experience in supporting NHS providers and commissioners, Local Authorities, independent health providers, regulators and housing clients in defending challenges to their decisions by way of judicial review claims.
Our judicial review mini-series, hosted by Peter Edwards, Lucy Houston and Jamie Choo Fon, will equip you with the knowledge you need to navigate judicial review claims with confidence, from the pre-action stage, right through to the substantive hearing. Through a webinar, panel discussion, podcast and insights, we will share practical strategies which you can deploy if faced with a judicial review claim, along with providing expert insight and discussion around the landscape of judicial review claims at present, and current risks for public bodies and those carrying out public functions.
We will be joined in this series by colleagues from Landmark Chambers who will be providing their insight into their practice, and the tips and tricks they have learnt from representing clients in these cases.

  • Judicial Review Top tips

At Capsticks, we recognise that clients working in the public sector, and those carrying out public functions, already have numerous competing demands on their time. Therefore, as part of this series, we will be providing you with a top tips document which you can turn to should you be faced with a proposed judicial review claim.

  • Podcasts - Preparing for Hearing

At Capsticks, we have a great track record of supporting clients to get claims dismissed at the permission stage. However, there are cases which proceed to oral hearings, whether that be a renewal hearing, or a final substantive hearing.

Capsticks’ Lucy Houston and Landmark Chambers’ Miranda Butler will be sitting down to discuss how to prepare for judicial review  hearings, and what to expect at the hearings themselves. They will draw upon their experience to provide you with their top tips, and the pitfalls to avoid.

    Details soon to follow.
