Capsticks has been appointed to seven lots on the Housing Associations Legal Alliance (HALA) Solicitors Panel – every lot for which the firm applied.

The appointment is due to commence on 19 October 2026 and will run for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further period or periods of up to 12 months. Southern Housing is acting as the contracting authority for the framework, which is managed by Kennedy Cater.

Demonstrating the breadth of expertise within its Housing team, Capsticks has secured places across the following lots:

  • Lot 1 – Corporate, Governance & Finance
  • Lot 2 – Housing & Asset Management
  • Lot 3 – Development
  • Lot 4 – Commercial Property
  • Lot 5 – Residential Property
  • Lot 6 – Employment
  • Lot 7 – Construction Litigation

The firm has been re-appointed to Lots 1, 2 and 3 – with the remaining four newly created for this tender process.

HALA was formed in 2010 to help deliver greater value for money in legal services for its members. This is achieved through the joint procurement of external legal services, including the establishment of the HALA Solicitors Panel, free of charge value-added benefits including training, and the sharing of legal knowledge and best practice.

Membership of HALA is open to social housing providers in England and Wales. The framework helps members access legal support across a broad range of areas, while supporting collaboration and efficiency across the sector.

Appointment to the framework solidifies Capsticks' commitment to the Social Housing sector – the firm's growing Social Housing team is one of the largest in the country and advises over 200 registered providers of varying size, located across the country, on all areas of housing.

Head of Housing, Susie Rogers, said:

This appointment is a significant achievement for Capsticks and reflects the strength and breadth of our Housing team. We're looking forward to supporting HALA members with practical, specialist advice across the full range of legal services they need.

Frameworks such as HALA play an important role in helping social housing providers access high-quality legal support efficiently and cost-effectively – we are pleased to continue supporting organisations who make a positive difference to the people and communities they serve.

Capsticks aims to be the firm of choice for organisations who work to make a difference. Our purpose is to deliver results that matter, providing practical and specialist legal advice tailored to our sectors’ unique challenges. Our lawyers work together as one team with the same values: putting people first, doing the right thing and always forward thinking.
