Sian Bond

Sian is a Partner in Capsticks’ employment and pensions division and leads a team of employment lawyers in the London office. Sian has 16 years’ experience advising healthcare providers and commissioners on employment law. Sian’s practice includes:

• Employment litigation – Sian has conducted some of Capsticks’ most complex employment tribunal and High Court cases including conducting advocacy in the Employment Tribunals and significant experience defending unfair dismissal and discrimination claims
• Organisational change - Sian advises NHS healthcare clients on all aspects of organisational change including joint working, TUPE, redundancy, and staff portability (particularly as the NHS moves to work collaboratively across ICSs)
• National Terms and Conditions – Sian regularly advises on NHS Terms and Conditions, doctor’s disciplinary procedures under MHPS, Treasury approval processes, NHS redundancy and executive pay issues, NHS England / NHS Improvement and Department of Health guidance and the governance structures within which the NHS operates
• HR networks - Sian works with a number of Healthcare focused HR networks including NHS Employers’ London region HRD network and the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) to provide advice and deliver training on the most pressing employment issues impacting healthcare organisations e.g. Covid-19 risk assessments and management of Covid-related absences, agile working and changes to immigration requirements post Brexit.  

Sian regularly provides training to managers and HR professionals on all aspects of employment law, and has a particular interest in supporting healthcare organisations to develop inclusive HR practices.
