Experience

Lewis is an associate in Capsticks’ Employment and Pensions Team specialising in advising employers on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters for the healthcare, social care and emergency services industries.

Lewis advises both employers and employees with employment tribunal litigation, work related disputes, grievance and disciplinary procedures, restrictive covenants, drafting policies and contracts, negotiating settlements and advising on employment status.

Expertise

Lewis regularly provides advice on employment tribunal litigation which includes complaints of unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing.

Lewis advises HR professionals on a large remit of ad-hoc issues.

Lewis also advocates preliminary hearings and judicial mediation.

CSR activity

Lewis is an active member of the firm’s corporate social responsibility team for the Leeds office which includes arranging various fund raising activities for the firm’s chosen charities.

Lewis has also been a mentor for aspiring lawyers at the University of Huddersfield since 2016.

Lewis was involved in founding the University of Huddersfield’s Legal Advice Clinic in 2013.
