Katie is a Senior Associate in the Commercial team specialising in public sector procurement, subsidy control and grant funding arrangements.

Experts

Katie advises local authorities, public bodies, port authorities and private contractors on all aspects of public sector contracts, from the outset of a procurement process through to completion and dealing with post close contractual issues.

Katie also advises both public sector bodies and private parties on the application of the UK subsidy control rules, including the Subsidy Control Act 2022, the UK’s international commitments on subsidy control, and, where applicable, the application of the EU State aid rules. This has included advising on funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the European Structural Investment Funds, the Levelling Up Fund, the Future High Streets Fund, the Port Infrastructure Fund and the Culture Recovery Fund.

Katie regularly delivers training to clients and other organisations on the developments in the public sector, including the recent changes to the UK procurement regime under the Procurement Act 2023.

Notable Projects

Advising Somerset Council on the £4bn Gigafactory project at the Gravity smart campus in Somerset.
