Kate is a Partner and Head of the Pensions Team at Capsticks.
Kate advises public sector bodies, employers and trustees on pension scheme governance, implementing and navigating changes in pensions law and policy, outsourcing and restructuring exercises and member complaints.
Kate has extensive experience working with public sector bodies, employers, and trustees, including those in Local Government, Emergency Services and healthcare and noted in Legal 500 as a "Rising Star".
Expertise
Kate advises public sector bodies in the emergency services, housing, education, civil service and local government on all pensions related matters. Kate has previously worked as the in-house legal advisor to one of the largest Local Government Pension Funds in the UK.
Recently Kate has advised on the implementation of the McCloud Remedy, the application of the Best Value Direction and Fair Deal on outsourcing projects and the LGPS pooling reform proposals.
Kate also advises private employers and trustees on all matters of pension scheme compliance and governance, including auto-enrolment, the restructuring and de-risking of defined benefit schemes, member consultation exercises and complaints to the Pensions Ombudsman.
