Senior Associate

Gemma is a senior associate in our Leeds employment and pensions team.  Gemma has experience of working with clients in the healthcare sector, including NHS Trusts, CSUs, CCGs and charities, on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Gemma supports HR teams at NHS bodies and in the third sector on a wide-range of Employment Tribunal claims and complex employment law matters including MHPS, grievances, termination of employment (including assisting with disciplinary and capability processes), sensitive executive Board removals, terms and conditions, reviews of HR policies and procedures, organisational change, and conducting ‘lawyer-led’ investigations. Gemma is often complemented on her common sense and commercial approach.

Gemma is also an expert on holiday pay, equal pay and other working time matters having spent many years specialising in equal pay litigation and also advising NHS Trusts in the North on holiday pay issues arising out of the Bear Scotland decision and defending various multi-claimant claims brought by trade unions on behalf of their members.
