Experience
Emily is a Senior Associate within the Housing Management team at Capsticks LLP, having joined the firm in March 2021. Emily represents English and Welsh Housing Associations and Local Councils in all aspects of day-to-day housing management duties.
Expertise
Emily’s experience primarily relates to management of anti-social behaviour in England and Wales, this includes complex possession claims (including sub-letting, succession and trespassers), closure orders and injunction applications (often involving substance abuse or mental health issues). Emily also has experience in dealing with breaches of injunction and contempt of court proceedings.
Emily provides practical advice to ensure appropriate action particularly in cases involving mental health issues, hoarding and where tenants lack litigation capacity. Emily also provides hosts regular legal surgeries and provides training sessions on current issues.
CSR activity
Emily is an active member of the Birmingham Office’s CSR Committee and acts as co-ordinator with the office charity partner - St Basils.
