NHS Estates Essentials: JCT 2024 - Important updates, market impact, and key Building Safety considerations
Speakers:
Catherine KayThe JCT 2024 suite has now been published, introducing various changes that reflect shifting market conditions and the continuing influence of the Building Safety Act.
With the withdrawal of the JCT 2016 edition on 31 March 2026 and the industry now moving to the new editions, this is a critical point of transition. The current transitional period will expire on 31 December 2026, after which JCT 2024 will be the standard form in use. Organisations not yet familiar with the latest updates risk being unprepared for upcoming procurements and contractual negotiations.
This webinar will explore the key updates in JCT 2024, focusing not just on what has changed, but why those changes matter in practice.
We will examine how the revised provisions respond to current market conditions, how they interact with (and differ from) the Building Safety Act regime, and where responsibility and risk allocation remain unresolved.
Join Catherine Kay, Partner in our construction team, and Nick Currie, Head of Project & Cost Management at JLL for this timely webinar where they will discuss:
- The key changes introduced in JCT 2024
- How these updates interact with current market pressures
- The areas covered and not covered by the Building Safety Act
- Practical considerations and risk points for employers, contractors, and consultants
This session will be particularly relevant for those involved in procurement, contract negotiation or project delivery using JCT forms, and for anyone evaluating the link between JCT 2024 and the Building Safety Act regime.
