Capsticks has been selected as one of only five legal providers for a new framework agreement organised by housing associations North Star and Castles and Coasts. It is the latest addition to a growing client base in the North, including Torus, Great Places, Onward, South Lakes Housing, Broadacres, Sanctuary and Jigsaw.

North Star manages around 4,000 homes in Teesside, North Yorkshire and South West Durham. North Stars vision is to create homes and build futures.  It works in collaboration with others to create stable, secure, trusting, and supportive environments where people feel they belong. It invests in the development of new homes, and the improvement of existing homes.

Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) manages around 7,000 properties in Cumbria and the North of England, building sustainable communities and aiming to invest £10 million into new homes every year.

The framework began on 4 January 2022 and is expected to last three years. Capsticks will provide a full service in all required areas, including:

  • Property transactions, development and construction: all types of conveyancing and non-contentious housing, proprietor and tenant law, all construction contracts or development agreements, disrepair claims and Health and Safety matters
  • Housing management and dispute resolution: all types of housing litigation, dilapidations, court possessions and general contentious work
  • Corporate and commercial: governance, employment, pensions, treasury loans and finance.
