Tamsin Ryder

Tamsin was called to the Bar in 2009 and practised as a tenant at 2 Dr Johnson’s Buildings specialising in criminal law. She was an accredited CPS prosecutor and also worked on secondment at the Serious Fraud Office.

In 2016 Tamsin commenced employment at the Nursing & Midwifery Council. She worked in the Case Preparation & Presentation Team presenting hearings across the full spectrum of fitness to practise and also defended appeals at the High Court. Prior to taking up her position at Capsticks, Tamsin was working in a managerial position in the NMC’s Investigations Department supervising completion of some of the organisation’s most complex and high risk cases.

Since joining Capsticks, Tamsin is leading on the investigation of fitness to practise cases for various healthcare regulators.

Having worked in both investigations and as an advocate before Fitness to Practise panels, Tamsin is acutely aware of the importance of making sure cases are prepared to a hearing ready standard. She has significant expertise of overseeing complex and sensitive cases and keeping cases on track to meet KPIs.
