Experience

Tamara completed her training contract at Capsticks and qualified in September 2012.  She became a Deputy Team Leader in 2017, and an Associate in 2019.  Now a partner as of May 2021, she leads a team handling a large, high value and complex caseload, primarily clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution and various NHS trusts. 

Expertise

Tamara has expertise in clinical negligence claims.  Her case load comprises predominantly high value cases and/or those which present complex and/or novel legal issues.  She handled the group pre-litigation arising from sexual assaults by Jimmy Savile and continues to deal with similar multi-party sexual assault claims.  Tamara has specific expertise in wrongful birth, psychiatric injury, and fatal claims.  She regularly acts as an advocate at hearings in the High Court and County Courts and represents her clients at mediations, conferences and settlement meetings.

    Notable projects 

    • Jimmy Savile litigation and other group actions arising from sexual assaults
    • Advising NHS Resolution and three NHS Trusts on complicated case relating to the decision not to communicate a diagnosis of a genetic disease to family members – this case will have far-reaching implications for the NHS 
    • Advising NHS Resolution and an NHS Trust on novel case relating to a former employee claiming to have been an ‘unwilling participant’ in a patient’s death and having suffered psychiatric injury as a result
