Nadine has developed experience and expertise in all areas of healthcare law since commencing as a Trainee Solicitor with the Clinical Law advisory team in January 2017 as a second year trainee.  She qualified as a solicitor in the Clinical Advisory team in the Birmingham office on 1 September 2017 and is also a member of the Public Law and Inquest teams

  • Nadine has experience of managing inquests and carrying out the advocacy at the Coroner’s courts including Article 2 inquests and inquests requiring a jury.
  • Provided advice and support to a Trust with regards to a withdrawal of treatment case from a child.
  • Handles requests under the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000
  • Advises NHS trusts and CCGs on a variety of healthcare related matters
  • Regularly completes applications to authorise deprivation of liberty in the community including COP DOL11 applications.
  • Provides advice to CCGs on Continuing Healthcare funding as well as challenges to funding decisions and has provided advice in relation to a complex CHC/ Local Authority discharge and funding matter.
  • Nadine has supported CCGs with section 21 A challenges in relation to residency and whether individuals had capacity to make decisions regarding where they wanted to live.
  • Nadine also regularly provides training to clients. Recent topics include the new General Data Protection Regulations and how they differ from the Data Protection Act 1998 as well as Serious Incident and Investigations training and training in relation to the update on Deprivation of Liberty case law.
