Experience

Leanne is a Principal Associate in the Claims division in Leeds.  She undertook an LLB exempting degree and then worked as a paralegal in disease, before she qualified into clinical negligence in 2008 with a national claimant law firm, where she gained Law Society, Clinical Negligence Accreditation and was recommended in Chambers and Partners.  

Leanne moved to defendant work in 2014 when she joined Ward Hadaway in Leeds.  Here she specialised in defending claims brought against NHS Trusts and GPs, on instruction from NHS Resolution, and was also instructed to represent Trusts at inquests.

Expertise

Leanne specialises in defending a varied case load of clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS Resolution, these include pre-litigated and litigated high value and complex claims including cerebral palsy and other birth injuries, wrongful birth, adult brain injury, complex spinal and neurological cases and amputation cases. 

She is an experienced litigator who also deals with multi-defendant claims and known to be highly analytical in the conduct of her cases. 

She has had experience of working on secondment with Trusts and NHS Resolution, providing training internally and externally on a variety of subjects and lectures on the Capsticks Diploma. 

CSR Activity

Leanne is involved as a mentor in the Leeds Beckett Law Career Mentoring Scheme.
