Experience

Fiona has over twenty years’ experience of commercial law and intellectual property law, gained mainly in law firms but also in-house at Filtronic plc and within the Medical Technologies research department at Leeds University.

Expertise

Fiona has expertise in drafting and reviewing complex supply agreements, IT and IP agreements, distribution and agency agreements, and terms and conditions for online shops. She also has expertise in intellectual property law, particularly that regarding trademarks, designs and copyright. Fiona has extensive experience of advising public sector clients, particularly in the field of healthcare.

Notable projects

  • Redrafting the standard terms of purchase for a national retailer of building materials.
  • Negotiating a long-term paper supply agreement for a global packaging manufacturer.
  • Leading on contract negotiations with, for example, ITV, E.ON, Transport for London, Kellogg’s and Hovis.
  • Negotiating a patent licence deal with the University of Oxford.
