David joined Capsticks in 2011 as a partner in Clinical Law.
David is an NHS Resolution Nominated Partner and Head of our Leeds office. David leads a team which handles clinical negligence claims for healthcare providers. He has a particular interest in high value obstetric cases. In addition to his litigation work David assists clients manage and coordinate the various legal processes which arise from Serious Incidents. In this role David appears as an advocate in the Coroner’s Court and plays an important role helping guide and support clients and their staff through the Inquest and other processes.
David has forged strong links with a local University assisting with their vocational training programme and helping students access legal practice.
In 2000 David completed a PhD in Medical Ethics and Law at Bristol University, his thesis explored the legal and ethical implications of prenatal screening, diagnostic testing and the termination of pregnancy following a diagnosis of fetal abnormality.
