David joined Capsticks in 2011 as a partner in the Clinical Law department. David handles a range of clinical negligence claims for healthcare providers. He has a particular interest in high value obstetric cases.
In addition to his litigation work David has developed expertise assisting clients manage and coordinate the various legal processes which arise from Serious Incidents. In this role David often appears as an advocate in the Coroner's Court and plays an important role helping guide and support clients and their staff through the Inquest and other processes.
David has forged strong links with a local University assisting with their vocational training programme and helping law students gain an understanding of legal practice. David is also a member of a University Research Ethics Committee.
In 2000, David completed a PhD in Medical Ethics and Law at Bristol University, his thesis explored the legal and ethical implications of prenatal screening, diagnostic testing and the termination of pregnancy following a diagnosis of fetal abnormality.
Before joining Capsticks, David spent 11 years at a national healthcare practice. His broad range of experience enables him to provide commercial and practical advice to clients.
