Daniel is a partner in Capsticks' Dispute Resolution team, with extensive experience of advising and representing the firm's healthcare clients in complex disputes in the High Court and appellate courts. Daniel has developed particular expertise in the management of commercial disputes arising within the NHS context. Daniel is a recognised leader in fraud response for public sector and healthcare bodies, including cases involving pharmaceutical regulation, and has led teams obtaining freezing injunctions in complex multi-party fraud cases.
Daniel has handled several high-profile and sensitive cases involving challenges to large-scale and sensitive procurements, as well as on PFI/PPP and LIFT projects. Daniel advises on reputation management issues including libel litigation, pre-publication advice, and responding to and managing adverse publicity.
Daniel leads teams acting for and representing regulators of professionals in fitness to practise cases. He has designed and implemented systems for the delivery of fitness to practise cases for regulators, and provides strategic advice to regulators on their own systems and statutory frameworks. Daniel is a Solicitor-Advocate and has appeared before various regulatory tribunals on behalf of regulators both at interim orders hearings and substantive hearings before Conduct Committees and Health Committees. Daniel was appointed in early 2009 as a member of the panel of advocates who represent the Solicitors Regulation Authority in professional disciplinary cases before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
