Vacation scheme

Our vacation scheme is designed to provide you with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the type of work we undertake and involve you in every aspect of the firm so you can find out what life at Capsticks is really like. In 2014 we will be running vacation schemes in our London, Birmingham and Leeds offices.

The vacation scheme runs from the end of June through to the middle of August and placements last for two weeks each. Vacation students spend a week in two different practice areas. In order to ensure that you are able to get the most out of your placement, we limit the number of participants on our London scheme to five. In both our Birmingham and Leeds offices we limit the number of participants to one per fortnight.

You will be allocated a supervisor during each seat who will be responsible for allocating, supervising and providing you with feedback on your work and this will typically involve research, drafting, attending meetings and having direct contact with our clients. You will also be able to participate in our firm wide and departmental training programmes, pro bono and sporting activities, as well as having the opportunity to get to know members of the firm through a number of social events we organise for you.

In order to be eligible for our 2014 vacation scheme, you should be on course for or have achieved a 2.1 (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree and be looking to secure a training contract with us in September 2016. We also expect candidates to be able to demonstrate that they are highly driven team players, with good problem solving and communication skills.
