Land sales in today's economic climate
In recent years, there has been little shortage of potential buyers bidding on properties coming onto the market, even if there are eventual delays in the sale process. However, as you will be aware, in the current economic climate this is no longer the case and it is now becoming more common for purchasers to pull out if the sale is not progressed quickly or even for buyers to fail to complete after sale contracts are exchanged, often due to speculative buyers not being able to secure the finance they require for the purchase of the Property.

It is therefore vital that once a buyer has been found for the purchase of a property, the seller has everything in place necessary for the sale and moves quickly to progress the sale negotiations in order to exchange contracts and complete the sale at the best price possible.

We can work with you and your agents to ensure all of the necessary seller’s information is ready and prepared in advance to minimise the risk of delays and the sale falling through, and our litigation team can advise on your options where the buyer is refusing to complete the purchase after sale contracts are exchanged.

If you require further information, please contact Mark Paget Skelin to discuss this further.
