Governance
Good governance is essential for all public bodies. You need to show that you have governance structures and systems in place that enable you to fulfil your commissioning role and meet world-class commissioning competencies.
We have a large team that has been advising on governance issues for many years. It’s a complex area and includes:
- providing on-the-spot advice to board members on governance issues, including the implications of the codes of conduct and accountability, the management of meetings and confidentiality
- working proactively with clients to develop flexible governance procedures that fit their individual needs and which can then be adapted as the clients themselves change
- advising on powers and functions of NHS bodies including issues around the delegation of functions to other bodies or joint committees;
- advising and supporting reviews and investigations into allegations of poor performance and governance failures
