Care Homes: Case Studies
CQC Warning Notices
We advised a large care home provider on its submissions to CQC relating to two warning notices issued. This successfully led to one of the warning notices being withdrawn. We continue to provide strategic support to our client in its ongoing relationship with CQC.
CQC inspections – draft reports
We helped a care home provider challenge the accuracy of a draft inspection report. This entailed providing key strategic advice when the client first received the report and the input on the appropriate evidence required, as well as the appropriate narrative, to effectively challenge CQC’s draft report. This led to important changes in the report when it was published on the CQC website.
CQC – Enforcement Action (Notice of Intention to Cancel the Registration)
We supported a client when it received a notice of CQC’s intention to cancel the registration of one of its care homes. We advised on the appropriate response to CQC and a constructive way forward to provide the best chance for the client to prevent CQC from taking the final step to actually cancel the registration.
We are currently undertaking an independent review of care provided to a service user at a client care home. This will be used by the Board to inform it of improvement necessary in its structure and delivery of care, and its compliance with the CQC fundamental standards.
