Led by Tina Elliott, the Equal Pay Team is dealing with the national NHS equal pay litigation. Capsticks is a member of the NHSLA panel for this work, and we attend their national steering group meetings. We are acting for around 50 NHS bodies in this substantial class action, with Senior Partner Peter Edwards providing strategic input.


Tina Elliott

Tina Elliott is an Partner in the Employment Department. Admitted as a solicitor in 1984 she worked as a partner at Beckman & Beckman. Tina is currently working on the National NHS Equal Pay Claims and deals with all areas of employment law including sex, race and disability discrimination and appears as a tribunal advocate.


Sonia Lenegan

Sonia Lenegan joined Capsticks in December 2007 as a paralegal in the Equal Pay Team. Sonia studied both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course part time, finishing in June 2007. From 2003 until 2006, Sonia worked as an HR Manager at BPP Professional Education and gained practical experience of dealing with employment law.


Nicole Johnson

Nicole Johnson joined Capsticks as a paralegal in November 2006 and has since worked exclusively on equal pay. Nicole completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London. Between 2005 and 2006 Nicole was an employment litigation paralegal at the Office of the Solicitor, whose clients included the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health. Nicole will commence a training contract at Capsticks in September 2008.


Saira Gulzar

Saira commenced work at Capsticks in April 2007 as a Paralegal in the Employment Department. Since joining, Saira has worked exclusively on the NHS equal pay claims. Saira graduated with an LLB degree in 2004 and completed the Bar Vocational Course in 2006. She was called to the Bar at Gray's Inn. Saira has gained good advocacy experience, in additional to other practical skills such as conferencing and negotiation.
