Education
Educating and training the current and future generation of healthcare professionals is essential in order to respond to national and local NHS priorities.
Capsticks' Commercial team is working with SHAs, universities and education providers on a variety of education commissioning and contracting matters. We are helping our clients to create a 'fit for purpose' system, aligned with the vision set out in the Health and Social Care Act and one that is supportive of the QIPP agenda.
This experience, coupled with our strong public procurement expertise, means we are ideally placed to advise you on the education and training issues which are so relevant to your core business.
We are closely monitoring the proposed new roles of healthcare providers, clinical commissioning groups, the NHS Commissioning Board and 'Health Education England’. As these all evolve in the new healthcare landscape we aim to help your organisation make the right decisions to maintain sustainability and good practice.
We can help you with:
- Advising education commissioners on the implementation of robust contractual mechanisms. Whether this relates to medical, dental, allied health or administrative professionals, we can help you to establish robust quality and performance monitoring mechanisms and maximise your education and training spend.
- Helping education providers secure payment commensurate with services provided. We work with education providers to draft bespoke contracts to ensure that they only take on the risks they are best placed to mitigate, and that relationships with universities and other placement providers are well managed and closely monitored. We also advise on liability and insurance issues related to rotation training arrangements.
- Advising on the restructuring of Deaneries and the separation of commissioner and provider functions. We will help you choose the right structure, draft necessary documentation and advise you on service configuration and procurement issues and associated TUPE implications - Working with universities and other providers to share administrative functions and pool resource - We can help you consider placement provision issues and put in place insurance and indemnity arrangements to limit your exposure.
