A wide variety of intellectually demanding areas of healthcare law

Our Dispute Resolution Department conducts a varied caseload of commercial, property, environmental and regulatory litigation including such matters as:

  • obtaining a freezing injunction to prevent a fraudulent optician
from removing assets from the country

  • recovering possession of an inner-city hospital site from
        squatters with firearms

  • representing a hospital charged with polluting a local river

  • These cases are often high profile and we are required to assist our clients in liaising with the press, police, and the Department of Health.

We also investigate cases of alleged serious professional misconduct of individual healthcare practitioners and prepare cases for hearings by the relevant professional regulatory body. These cases cover areas ranging from fraud to poor clinical practice to indecent assault on patients. They regularly result in the practitioner being barred from practising in the future.

Lawyers in this department experience a wide variety of intellectually demanding areas of healthcare law. Our lawyers’ ability to distil the complex issues they encounter into straightforward, practical and workable advice is what sets us apart from our competitors.
