Adelita is an associate in the regulatory team.  She has particular experience of the health and social care and legal sectors, having advised a variety of clients in these fields for many years.

Adelita has overseen and prepared a large number of fitness to practise cases for a variety of different regulators, including the Nursing & Midwifery Council, General Dental Council and Solicitors Regulation Authority.  Adelita has also presented cases at interim order hearings, registration hearings and conduct hearings.  She has handled many high profile and complex multiple patient clinical cases and performance and fraud cases. For example, she acted on a high profile cross infection case (involving two registrants), which involved the biggest patient recall in NHS history and attracted significant media interest at the hearing.

Adelita has spent time on secondment to different regulators. Between 2014 and 2016, she was seconded to the General Dental Council, where she advised and assisted in a variety of areas including in the development and implementation of policy and guidance. She also has experience of acting for the Care Quality Commission (and its predecessor bodies) including prosecuting cases, obtaining injunctions, defending appeals and advising at inquests.

Clients comment that Adelita “really understands regulation and has a very precise and thorough approach to whatever she does”.  She has also been described as a "wonderful client-facing lawyer, with rock-solid technical knowledge who is a pleasure to work with."
