Suzanne is a senior solicitor in the Housing team. She specialises in planning matters, including negotiating and reviewing s106 agreements, s106 deeds of variation, CIL, planning appeals, highways agreements, sewer agreements, environmental permitting and any other planning law matters.
Prior to joining Capsticks Suzanne spent 11 years working in the public sector specialising in planning and environmental law where she provided in depth legal advice and negotiated s106 agreements in relation to both major commercial and residential developments, including windfarms. Suzanne also gave advice in relation to permitted development, planning enforcement, CPO, lawful development certificates, and Tree Preservation Orders. She also acted as the lead legal advisor at development control committees. Additionally Suzanne has case managed numerous bespoke planning inquiries, and acted as lead advisor in relation to planning policy matters including local plan adoption, CIL adoption and Neighbourhood Plan referendums.
Over the course of 11 years Suzanne has gained an in-depth understanding of local government and the decision making process. In addition to specialising in planning and environmental law Suzanne has led on various governance projects including Community Governance Reviews and was appointed as a temporary parish councillor twice.
