Daniel joined Capsticks from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in June 2010 and is a lawyer in the Real Estate department. Whilst at Freshfields, Daniel spent time on secondment at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) working on the development of the Olympic site in Stratford and other new venues, as well as negotiating venue use agreements with the owners of existing third party venues. Daniel was also seconded to Canary Wharf plc where he assisted with the management of the Canary Wharf Estate from a legal perspective.
Daniel has gained considerable experience in the healthcare sector. Much of Daniel’s work has been for commissioning organisations and NHS Property Services Limited, and he has also acted for a number of NHS trusts (including Mental Health Trusts), healthcare charities and social enterprises. Daniel’s most notable projects have included advising Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust on the redevelopment of St Helier Hospital, numerous LIFT projects including Lease Plus Agreements and Sub-Lease Plus Agreements with GPs, pharmacies and dental practices, and advising West London Mental Healthcare NHS Trust on the redevelopment of its Broadmoor and St Bernards Hospital sites.
Dan has also taken the lead role in the DH transfer work and subsequent regularisation of NHS PS’s estate in numerous local areas by putting in place appropriate property arrangements with various occupiers. Dan has acted on the Real Estate aspects of numerous Transforming Community Services (TCS) projects (including Medway, Lewisham and Tower Hamlets from the commissioning side and Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire from the provider side).
