Gemma is a lawyer in the Employment team based in our Leeds office. Gemma’s role involves a variety of contentious and non-contentious employment work, in a health and social care context. She assists in preparation for Employment Tribunal hearings, ranging from unfair dismissal and discrimination to breach of contract and whistleblowing claims, drafting witness statements, preparing bundles and attending conferences and hearings with Counsel.
Prior to joining Capsticks, Gemma advised the Police Federation and their members for a number of years upon a wide range of complex civil and employment matters, with particular expertise in Police pensions. Most recently, Gemma worked in the Employment department of a national firm specialising in local government equal pay litigation.
