Katie specialises in commercial dispute resolution, primarily in the healthcare sector. Katie also handles investigations and prosecutions on behalf of regulatory clients.
Katie advises on a broad range of contentious matters, including the negotiation of economic settlements, the recovery of money through the courts and defending high value proceedings. She also has experience of bringing and defending challenges relating to procurement decisions, and on responding to fraud. She also regularly advises clients faced with outsourcing disputes or underperforming contractors, including advising on issues of a critical and urgent nature where the continuation of key services might be in jeopardy.
Katie also has experience of handling large professional disciplinary cases involving multiple complaints, often of a complex nature. She has acted on cases involving novel legal issues and dealt with vulnerable witnesses and whistleblowers. She is a specialist in managing cases involving fraudulent conduct.
Katie has spent time on secondment to a regulatory client where she assisted in handling a “super complaint”. She has also spent time at two separate NHS Trusts, dealing with a variety of legal issues ranging from clinical negligence claims, inquests, occupiers liability claims, emergency treatment and consent issues.
