Kate specialises in conduct, competence and health investigations on behalf of a number of regulatory bodies, including the General Dental Council, Solicitors Regulation Authority and General Pharmaceutical Council.
Kate has extensive experience of progressing cases efficiently through the regulatory and litigation processes, including advising on evidence and procedure, supporting vulnerable witnesses, charge drafting, responding to abuse of process and other legal applications. She also handles judicial reviews and other High Court cases in the disciplinary arena.
She regularly provides bespoke advice to regulatory bodies on procedure, statutory interpretation and published guidance and policy documents. She also acts for the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care advising on statutory appeals and has experience of general civil litigation matters.
Kate has appeared as advocate before the committees of a number of regulatory bodies. She has presented numerous substantive cases as well as registration appeals, interim order and resumed hearings. Kate also regularly provides training to regulatory clients and their stakeholders, such as expert witnesses.
