Kevin is a partner with Capsticks and leads a team that advises on a wide variety of property based projects for Registered Providers of Social Housing.
He provides advice on issues relating to new build development schemes including land acquisitions, development agreements, planning agreements, infrastructure arrangements as well as pre-emption and overage agreements. Projects he has worked on not only cover the provision of social housing but also care homes, extra care schemes, supported living and a variety of mixed use and mixed tenure schemes.
His experience encompasses large multi property stock rationalisations including sales, purchases and stock swaps. His team are highly proactive and organised and have developed a web based portal for holding and disseminating the large volume of information and documentation that such projects involve. Kevin's team is supported by other Capsticks lawyers who provide advice on the non-property aspects of these projects such as TUPE and data protection.
- Acting for a Registered Provider on the acquisition of 27 care homes from a County Council with a lease back to a Care Provider. The project involved a rolling £54m programme to develop new care homes and supported living accommodation.
- The acquisition of land and development of 88 flats for rent and shared ownership with commercial units on the ground floor leased to private businesses.
- The acquisition of land and development of over 400 units for a consortium of RPs from a single developer spread over three different sites.
- Acting on the acquisition of 150 properties and disposal of 120 properties in connection with a £10m stock swap between two Housing Associations.
