Emma joined our Leeds office in August 2011 as a lawyer in the real estate department. She trained at Eversheds and qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
Emma has advised a number of clients in the private sector and the education sector on commercial property matters but the focus of Emma's role lay in advising clients in the healthcare sector.
Emma has a wide range of healthcare property experience gained from acting for a number of trusts, including being the main property adviser for a North West mental health foundation trust in the rationalisation of its estate and, in particular, advice on the acquisition and disposal of surplus land. She has acted for trusts in providing general property management advice and in formalising landlord/tenant type arrangements in line with the principles set out in Estate code.
Within the education sector, Emma advised both further and higher education clients on strategic site acquisitions and disposals as well as assisting in rationalising those clients' property portfolios. Emma was also heavily involved with the Academy team at Eversheds, assisting on the property aspects in the establishment of Academies.
